Soap Scum Remover

This is my all-time favorite DIY cleaning product! Tackle that hard to remove soap scum by simply spraying on, leaving for 30 minutes and rinse! No scrubbing required. Many of the ingredients can be found around your house. This recipe is super simple to make and so effective.

Soap Scum Remover

 Instructions:

  • In an empty, clean spray bottle, combine:

    • 1 cup of vinegar

    • 1 cup of dish liquid

  • Gently shake to mix. Spray on your tub and/or shower and allow it to sit for at least 30 minutes.

  • Open a window and turn on the fan – the smell is strong!

  • Wipe down with a damp cloth and rinse to sparkling clean.

 Notes:

  • DO NOT USE on granite, marble, or similar surfaces

  • For the dish liquid, many recipes suggest using Dawn

  • Some recipes suggest heating the vinegar (using a microwave safe bowl) but I have found that it works fine without heating the vinegar.

  • I have also used a ratio of 2 cups vinegar to ½ cup dish liquid and it has worked as well

  • Experiment with what will work best in your bathroom!
